Falcon Timber is part of the Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) group who supply sustainable timber products across the UK and Ireland. Falcon Timber is our national distribution arm and Hoffman Triesse our multi-site manufacturing operation, allows us to offer a truly one stop solution for our diverse range of customers.

We currently have an opening for a safety first Operations Manager to join our well established site in North East Birmingham. You will lead a team of focused and hard working colleagues and work closely with our Site Director to successfully deliver the site budget. So, what will you be doing? Here is an overview of your core responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team to deliver a successful picking/loading operation.
  • Lead by example, driving a safety first culture and work within our H&S policies and safe systems of work.
  • Check multi product/part orders ensuring they are safe and ready for despatch.
  • Manage and conduct daily/weekly stock checks.
  • Manage supplier deliveries and identify shortages, damages or discrepancies.
  • Plan economic route scheduling to meet or exceed budgetary targets, including maximum use of efficient multi-drop route planning.
  • Develop and manage relationships with third party distribution providers.
  • Ensure company compliance with all transport policies, legislation and procedures in respect of tachographs.
  • Inspect & maintain warehouse plant and equipment, reporting any faults or wear & tear.

What are we looking for in an Operations Manager?

  • Experience in a management position within a warehouse or logistics operation
  • Excellent relationship building skills, able to influence and negotiate
    • Good technical knowledge and comfortable using multiple systems.
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety compliance
  • Ability to identify and evaluate potential risks and where possible develop solutions to mitigate.
  • Able to work at pace with a flexible approach to meet customer demand
